Mike Scott is a non-executive director. He is qualified in geology and mining engineering having a BSc (Hons) in geology from UCT and an MSc in mining engineering from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College. He has experience in mineral exploration and mining in a number of southern African and other countries and he has played a role in the discovery and development of eleven mines and mining projects. Principal among these have been Otjihase Copper Mine in Namibia and, in South Africa; Potgietersrus Platinum Mine, Marsfontein and Klipspringer Diamond Mines, Messina (now Limpopo) Platinum Mine, Lesego Platinum Mines and the Makonjwaan and Sofala Gold Mines.
He is currently MD of MinEx Projects (Pty) Limited, a private mineral exploration company operating mainly in southern and West Africa and Europe.
